Dedra Louis has filed a lawsuit against Leidos, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana, under case ID 3:24-cv-00350-JWD-RLB, dated May 3, 2024. The plaintiff alleges race-based discrimination under the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and 1991.

The plaintiff's attorney, Natalie Blackman, claims that Dedra Louis, an African American citizen of the United States and a Military and Family Life Counselor at Leidos since November 2021, was subjected to discriminatory treatment. The alleged discrimination occurred around her assignment in Guam on June 18, 2023.

The complaint details that four days prior to her assignment in Guam, Louis received information about corporate housing units from Team Lead Denise Grant. However, she later discovered that this information had been shared with her coworkers six months earlier. Upon visiting the assigned corporate housing units on June 25, Louis found them unsafe due to their location near abandoned property in a poorly lit area with roaming dogs and graffiti-covered buildings.

Louis is seeking judgment against Leidos for racial discrimination. She alleges that despite expressing concerns about the safety of the corporate housing units and requesting alternative accommodation, she was forced to stay there while her white coworker Stephanie Lawrence was allowed to move into safer accommodation within 24 hours of raising similar concerns.
