Jeffery Harper has filed a lawsuit against W&T Offshore, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana (Case 2:24-cv-01101-LMA-KWR) on April 30, 2024. The suit is a complaint for damages resulting from an accident that occurred while Harper was working on one of W&T's platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. Harper alleges negligence on the part of W&T Offshore, Inc., which he claims led to his severe injuries.

Harper was employed by Danos as an A operator and was assigned to duties on the EC321A platform owned and operated by W&T Offshore. On February 17, 2024, Harper tripped and fell on a valve handle that was protruding into a narrow poorly lit passageway on the platform. He suffered severe injuries as a result of this fall, including one that required surgical intervention.

The plaintiff alleges that his injuries were caused solely by the negligence of W&T Offshore. This negligence included failure to exercise due care under the circumstances, creating an unreasonably dangerous condition, failing to provide a safe place to work, violation of established safety regulations among others. As a result of these injuries, Harper incurred past, present and future medical expenses; physical pain and suffering; mental and emotional pain and suffering; loss wages and/or earning capacity; loss of fringe benefits; permanent disability and/or anatomical impairments.

In conclusion, Jeffery Harper is seeking judgment against W&T Offshore for damages related to his accident. He desires a trial by jury be ordered.
