A man has filed a lawsuit accusing DNOW and Adecco USA of discrimination.
Arthur T. Hill filed his complaint in federal court against DNOW Inc. and Adecco USA Inc.
According to the complaint, Hill suffered a stroke in 2012 that left him with partial left-sided weakness. As a result, he says he faced discriminatory practices at his workplace. He applied for a Warehouse/Driver position at DNOW's Belle Chasse location in January 2022 but was directed to apply through Adecco, a staffing agency responsible for DNOW's pre-employment screening.
Despite passing the drug screen and being hired by Adecco, Hill claims he was prevented from performing certain job duties due to his physical condition. He alleges he initially was allowed to operate a forklift and stock materials on the second floor but was later prohibited from doing so by DNOW management.
The charges of discrimination were filed timely against both DNOW and Adecco on October 6, 2022. Following the issuance of right-to-sue letters on February 6, 2024, this complaint has been deemed ripe and timely.
